"My Belarus": the exhibition of achievements of a sovereign country has opened in Minsk!
From 19 December to 23 February, the Minsk International Exhibition Centre will be transformed into a large-scale venue hosting the "My Belarus" exhibition , which will showcase the development achievements of the sovereign republic. The organiser of this landmark event is the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo". The Director of "BelExpo", Sergei Baran, announced that the exhibition will be divided into three thematic blocks. Visitors will be able to see impressive installations and take memorable photographs in specially equipped photo zones. A particular highlight will be a map of Belarus featuring key facilities built during the years of independence. The main exhibition, located in the large exhibition hall, will feature eight major zones dedicated to the country's most important economic sectors. In the small hall, guests will be immersed in the beauty and charm of Belarusian nature, revealing the nation's tourism potential. The exhibition opening coincides with the second session of the 7th All-Belarusian People's Assembly, underscoring its significance for the country's development and prosperity. The second session of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly has started in Minsk!
T oday, on December 18, the second session of the VII The All-Belarusian People's Assembly is taking place in Minsk. This event, without exaggeration, is one of the key events in the socio-political life of Belarus, determining the vector of the country's development in the coming years. The main event of the first day is the Message of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly. About 1,200 delegates from all over Belarus gathered at the Palace of the Republic, representing the interests of various segments of the population and sectors of the economy. More than 700 invitees, including senior officials, representatives of business, political parties, public organizations, foreign diplomats and heads of international structures, also attended the meeting. In February 2022, the All-Belarusian People's Assembly was granted constitutional status, becoming the highest representative body of the people's power. Now, in accordance with the updated Constitution, the annual Messages of the Head of State are heard exclusively on the site of the ABPA. After the President's speech, delegates have the opportunity to ask him questions. On the second day of the ABPA, December 19, delegates will have to approve the Program of Socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus for 2026-2030. Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin will deliver a key report on this issue. In addition, the meeting will include the election of a new member of the Presidium of the ABPA, as well as consideration of personnel issues related to the Constitutional and Supreme Courts. The delegates are to elect five new judges of the Constitutional Court. The head of the Belhydromet, Sergey Khilman, participates in the meeting as a delegate. Seminar on the outcomes of the joint board of the Union State Committee: Cooperation in the Field of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Pollution Monitoring
On 17 December 2025, a seminar was held on the outcomes of the joint board of the Union State Committee for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of Environmental Pollution. The event took place via videoconference and brought together leading specialists from Belhydromet and Roshydromet, including: FSBI  «NPO «Typhoon»; FSBI «SRC «Planeta»; The Republican Centre for Emergency Response and Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations; Belhydromet. The seminar aimed to discuss issues related to organising the collection and storage of data on deep convection systems over the contiguous territories of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. The agenda included the following topics: -  Short-term forecasting and nowcasting of intense convective processes and phenomena: modern approaches and solutions for developing technology to issue new high-resolution information products in support of decision-making for hazardous weather warnings; -  The lightning detection system of SRC «Planeta»; -  Rapidly developing convective phenomena during the warm season and the lead time of warnings. The matters discussed are of significant importance for enhancing the efficiency of forecasting hazardous meteorological phenomena and ensuring environmental safety within the territory of the Union State.

New Automatic Weather Station opens in Osipovichi
On 17 December , a ceremony was held in Osipovichi to mark the official opening of a new modern automatic weather station (AWS), manufactured by the Belarusian enterprise "Peleng". The opening ceremony was attended by Sergei Khilman, Head of Belhydromet; Konstantin Teplyakov, Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection; Gevorg Melkonyan, Chairman of the Osipovichi District Executive Committee; Nikolai Kostusev, Head of the "Mogilev Regional Hydrometeorological Centre" ; and Vladimir Ryzhankov, Chairman of the Osipovichi District Council of Deputies. This AWS is the second to be commissioned this year and the seventieth in the country. Its opening is directly linked to the President's directive to ensure economic resilience and public safety. High-quality forecasts and timely warnings of hazardous weather events require reliable data and an extensive network of weather stations. The new station will enhance the accuracy of local forecasts, expedite warnings of hazardous phenomena, and provide data for key economic sectors. The AWS is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments for the continuous collection of meteorological data. This information will enable the creation of more accurate and timely forecasts. During the event, Sergei Khilman, Head of Belhydromet, commended the high professionalism and significant personal contribution of Nikolai Kostusev, Head of the "Mogilev Regional Hydrometeorological Centre", in organising and overseeing the construction works for the AWS in Osipovichi, and presented him with a Letter of Appreciation. The official opening was marked by the symbolic handing over of a key and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Young environmentalists received sweet gifts. The station's operation will significantly improve the quality of meteorological services and make a substantial contribution to the sustainable development of the region. The commissioning of three more AWSs is planned before the end of 2025.

A Unified Information Day at Belhydromet: Results of the Year of Improvement and key topics of the upcoming All-Belarusian People's Assembly
On 16 December 2025, an informational and educational meeting was held at Belhydromet as part of the Unified Information Day, with its key theme being "The Quality Five-Year Plan: Results of the Year of Improvement". The speaker was Sergei Mazovka, a deputy of the Minsk City Council of Deputies and Chairman of the Belaya Rus Public Association's Primary Organisation for Minsk's Pervomaysky District . His address was dedicated to the theme of the Unified Information Day and the forthcoming All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which will be held on 18-19 December 2025 under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko. Sergei Anatolyevich summarised the interim results of the "Quality Five-Year Plan", highlighting key issues tabled for discussion at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly: demographic security, enhancing human potential - including matters of education and the patriotic upbringing of youth. He emphasised the importance of citizens' active participation in shaping the country's future and expressed confidence in a constructive dialogue at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly venue. Also taking part in the event was Eduard Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Pervomaisky District Organisation of Minsk of the ROO "Belaya Rus" . In his address, he focused on the issue of cybersecurity, emphasising its importance in the context of the digitalisation of all spheres of society. Following the meeting, membership cards and commemorative gifts were presented to Belhydromet employees who joined the Belaya Rus Public Association. The event was held in an open dialogue format, allowing participants not only to receive up-to-date information on key state initiatives but also to ask the speakers questions of interest.

Representatives of Belhydromet paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the genocide
On December 9, 2025, representatives of Belhydromet, led by Victoria Nevodnicha, Deputy Head for Ideological Work, and Anastasia Zhed, Chairman of the primary trade union organization, took part in a requiem rally dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide, honoring their Dignity and Preventing this Crime. The event was held at the Grieving Mother monument , which serves as a symbol of eternal memory of the innocent victims of wars and crimes against humanity. The participants of the rally honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the foot of the monument. The participation of Belhydromet employees in the commemorative event is not only a tribute to the victims, but also a firm statement of their intransigence to any form of violence and discrimination. The staff of Belhydromet shares a universal position: knowledge of the tragic pages of history and their understanding is the most important condition for peace and security of future generations. Belhydromet calls on everyone to remember the lessons of the past and work together to build a society based on respect, tolerance and mutual understanding!

The weather is under control!
The presentation of the automated meteorological measuring system AMMS-Peleng , which was put into operation at the end of November, took place at the Civil Aviation Meteorological Station (CAMS) Gomel, located on the territory of Gomel Airport. Air transportation is the largest industry in the modern world. Its influence and demand is growing every year. Weather conditions affect almost all operations at the airport. Poor conditions can lead to flight delays or even a complete shutdown of the airport. Therefore, it is important to have modern equipment for monitoring weather conditions. The aerodrome meteorological system AMMS-Peleng is an aerodrome weather monitoring system. It measures, processes, displays, stores, and distributes weather data. Equipping CAMS Gomel AMMS-Peleng is an important step towards strengthening flight safety and efficiency.     This system is manufactured by the open joint-stock company Peleng and is a unique product of Belarusian production. OAO Peleng is a leading design company of the optical and electronic industry of the Republic of Belarus. The company has many years of successful experience in participating in such large-scale projects as the creation of target equipment for spacecraft and satellites, the modernization of meteorological services, and the fulfillment of large foreign orders, including in the field of space instrumentation. AMMS-Peleng meets all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the World Meteorological Organization. The presentation was attended by Sergey Luzhkov, Head of the Gomeloblhydromet branch , Nikolay Murashko, Head of the Gomel Branch of the State Enterprise Belaeronavigation, representatives of OAO Peleng, D.I. Meeting with a representative of the Pervomaisky district Prosecutor's office in Minsk
On December 9, the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide, honoring their dignity and preventing this crime, an important and meaningful meeting was held in Belhydromet with Margarita Mikulenok, Senior assistant to the Prosecutor's Office of the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. During the meeting, Margarita Mikhailovna spoke in detail about the progress and results of the investigation of the criminal case on the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people. She also focused on key aspects of the Prosecutor's office's work: a comprehensive and thorough study of historical documents and archival materials, establishing the circumstances of the crimes committed, recording witness statements and expert opinions, and working to bring perpetrators to justice as prescribed by law. The speaker stressed the importance of preserving the historical memory of the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period. She also drew attention to the fact that the genocide of the Belarusian people is a crime against humanity that has no statute of limitations. It is important to remember and honor the memory of innocent victims, as well as to resist any attempts to distort historical facts and rehabilitate Nazism. Margarita Mikhailovna emphasized that the investigation of such cases is not only a legal process, but also an important element of preserving historical truth, fostering respect for victims and preventing the recurrence of tragedies in the future!
