Information on exceedances of standards for ambient air quality (from the 5th to 11th of May, 2022)

The State Institution "Republican Center for hydrometeorology, control of radioactive contamination and environmental monitoring" informs about the excess of MPC standards for pollutants in the atmospheric air of the cities of the republic for the period from May 5 to May 11, 2022.

In the air of the city Brest in the area of Severnaya St.,75 on May 5 and 6, 2022, the average daily concentrations of surface ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1,03 times (on May 5, an east wind prevailed at a speed of 1–3 m/s, the air temperature varied in the range from +5.3°С to +18.0°С, relative humidity - from 29% to 52%; on May 6, the wind of variable directions prevailed with an average speed of 2 m/s, the air temperature varied in the range from +8,9°С to +19.2°С, relative humidity - from 48% to 63%). On May 11, 2022, in the specified area, an excess of the MAC for surface ozone established for an 8-hour period was recorded: from 16:00 to 24:00, the concentration of surface ozone was 1.1 MPC (a southwest wind was observed at a speed of 2–3 m/s). s, air temperature ranged from +22.1°C to +24.1°C, relative humidity - from 32% to 47%). On May 11, 2022, the average daily concentration of ground-level ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1.1 times (wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 1–3 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +7.0°С to +25.3°С, relative humidity - from 30% to 68%).

At the background monitoring station in the Berezinsky Reserve on May 5, 2022, ground-level ozone concentrations exceeded the maximum single MPC (averaging period 1 hour) from 09:00 to 10:00 – 1,03 times, from 10:00 to 11:00 - by 1,05 times, from 11:00 to 12:00 - by 1.04 times, from 12:00 to 13:00 - by 1.06 times, from 13:00 to 14:00 - by 1.04 times , from 14:00 to 15:00 - by 1.05 times, from 15:00 to 16:00 - by 1.04 times, from 16:00 to 17:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00 - in 1.1 times, from 18:00 to 19:00 - 1.17 times, from 19:00 to 20:00 - 1.16 times, from 20:00 to 21:00 - 1.06 times. On May 5, 2022, the MPC standard established for an 8-hour period was exceeded: from 00:00 to 08:00, the concentration of ground-level ozone was 1.08 MPC, from 08:00 to 16:00 and from 16:00 to 24:00 - 1.4 MPC. The average daily concentration of ground-level ozone on May 5, 2022 exceeded the MPC standard by 1.7 times.

On May 7, 2022, in the air of Polotsk in the area of residential building 9 on Yubileynaya St., the average daily concentration of ground-level ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1,07 times (wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 1–4 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +10.6°С to +19.2°С, relative humidity – from 34% to 79%); May 8, 2022 - by 1.02 times (wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 1–3 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +11.4°C to +15.3°C, relative humidity - from 39% up to 85%); May 9, 2022 - 1.3 times (northern, northwestern wind was observed at a speed of 1–2 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +1.8°С to +13.7°С, relative humidity - from 29% to 80%). On May 11, 2022, at 06:40, in the area of residential building 9 on Yubileinaya St., at 06:40, the maximum one-time MPC was exceeded by 1,1 times for nitrogen oxide (calm was observed, the air temperature was +7.0 ° С, relative humidity - 75%).

On May 7, 2022, the average daily concentration of ground-level ozone in the air of Novopolotsk in the area of the administrative building at 49 Molodezhnaya Street, building 1 exceeded the MPC standard by 1,09 times (wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 1–4 m/s, the air temperature varied in the range from +10.6°C to +19.2°C, relative humidity - from 34% to 79%).

On May 7, 2022, in the air of Minsk in the Uruchcha microdistrict, the average daily concentration of particulate matter, fractions up to 2.5 microns in size (hereinafter – PM2.5) was 1.03 MPC (a southerly wind was observed with a transition to a southwesterly wind from average speed of 2 m/s, air temperature ranged from +10.9°С to +19.4°С, relative humidity - from 38% to 62%).

On May 6, 2022, the average daily concentration of particulate matter, fractions up to 10 microns in size (hereinafter – PM10) in the air of the city of Gomel in the area of Barykina St.,319, was 1,7 MPC (dominated south wind with an average speed of 2 m/s, air temperature ranged from +5.6°С to +18.1°С, relative humidity - from 22% to 58%); May 7, 2022 - 1.2 MPC (southern wind prevailed with an average speed of 2 m/s, gusts up to 10 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +0,1°С to +17,6°С, relative humidity – from 30% to 42%); May 11, 2022 – 1,1 MPC (northwest wind prevailed with an average speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 9 m/s, air temperature ranged from +7.1°С to +20.2°С, relative humidity - from 27% to 62%).

In the air of Zhlobin in the area of Prigorodnaya St.,12 on May 6, 2022, the average daily concentration of PM2.5 was 1.2 MPC (southern wind prevailed at an average speed of 2 m/s, gusts up to 9 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +4.1°С to +19.0°С, relative humidity - from 24% to 63%); May 7, 2022 - 1.8 MPC (southern wind prevailed with an average speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 10 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +10.1°С to +18.5°С, relative humidity – from 37% to 50%); May 11, 2022 - 1.1 MPC (westerly wind prevailed at an average speed of 1 m/s, gusts up to 7 m/s, air temperature ranged from +2.7°С to +20.9°С, relative humidity – from 30% to 72%).

On May 5, 2022, the average daily concentration of PM10 in the air of Mogilev in the area of 4 Movchansky St. was 1,1 MPC (wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 0–2 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from -1.0°С up to +13.4°C, relative humidity - from 22% to 77%). On May 6, 2022, in the area of Shmidt Avenue, 19, on May 6, 2022, the average daily concentration of surface ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1.09 times, PM10 - by 1.03 times; , western, southeastern wind at a speed of 1–4 m/s, calm, air temperature ranged from +2.2°С to +18.0°С, relative humidity - from 24% to 67%); On May 7, 2022, in the area of Shmidt Avenue,19, the average daily concentration of surface ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1,1 times, PM10 - by 1.01 times; east, southeast, southwest wind at a speed of 1–3 m/s, calm, air temperature varied in the range from +10.6°С to +17.4°С, relative humidity – from 37% to 77%); On May 9, 2022, in the area of Schmidt Avenue,19, the average daily concentration of surface ozone exceeded the MPC standard by 1.05 times (there was a northwestern, western, northern wind at a speed of 1–4 m/s, gusts up to 10 m/s, air temperature varied in the range from +5.7°C to +13.0°C, relative humidity - from 25% to 56%). On May 11, 2022, in the area of Movchanskogo St.,4, the average daily concentration of PM10 exceeded the MPC standard by 1.1 times (calm, western, south-western wind at a speed of 1–4 m/s was observed, air temperature varied in the range from +3,1°C to +20.8°C, relative humidity - from 25% to 81%). According to the results of discrete observations, on May 7, 2022 at 13:00 in the area of Kashtanovaya St.,5, the concentration of nitrogen dioxide was 1.5 MPC (a south wind was observed at a speed of 3 m/s, the air temperature was +16.2°С; relative humidity - 39%); May 10, 2022 at 01:00 in the area of house 10 on Pervomayskaya Street - 1.2 MPC (calm was observed, the air temperature was + 7.4°С, relative humidity - 45%); May 11, 2022 at 01:00 in the area of house 10 on Pervomayskaya Street - 1.1 MPC (calm was observed, the air temperature was +7.6°С, relative humidity - 57%).
