Information on exceedances of standards for ambient air quality (from 21 to 27 of March, 2024)

The state institution "Republican center for hydrometeorology, control of radioactive contamination and environmental monitoring" informs about the exceedances of the MPC standards for pollutants in the atmospheric air of the cities of the republic for the period from March 21 to 27, 2024.

In the air of Gomel in the area of Barykina street, 319 on March 21, 2024 average daily concentration of solid particles, fractions in size up to 10 microns (hereinafter – PM10) was 1.71 MPC (winds of variable directions with an average speed of 1 m/s were observed, gusts up to 6 m/s, haze, air temperature ranged from +1.9°C to +10.1°C, relative humidity – from 48 % up to 92%). In the specified area on March 22, 2024 at 20:00 the concentration of carbon oxide was 1.13 MPC (a southerly wind with a speed of 2 m/s was observed, the air temperature was +10.8°C, humidity – 49%), the average daily concentration of PM10 was 1.41 MPC (calm was observed, a southerly wind with an average speed of 2 m/s, gusts up to 6 m/s, haze, fog, air temperature ranged from 0°C to +11.4°C, relative humidity – from 48% to 100%). In the area of Barykina street, 319 on March 25, 2024, the average daily concentration of PM10 was 1.11 MPC (wind of variable directions with an average speed of 1 m/s, gusts up to 5 m/s, haze, fog, air temperature ranged from -0.5°C to +8.9°C, relative humidity – from 55 % to 100%), March 26, 2024 – 1.03 MPC (the wind of the northern quarter was observed with an average speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 7 m/s, air temperature ranged from +3.1°C to +10.5°C, relative humidity – from 44% to 83%), March 27, 2024 – 2.0 MPC (calm was observed, an easterly wind with a transition to the south-easterly with an average speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 9 m/s, haze, air temperature ranged from +0.6°C to +10.0°C, relative humidity – from 41% to 96%).

In the air of Zhlobin in the area of Prigorodnaya street, 12 on March 21, 2024, the average daily concentration of solid particles, fractions up to 2.5 microns in size (hereinafter – PM2.5) was 1.36 MPC, the average daily concentration of PM10 was 1.07 MPC (winds of variable directions with an average speed of 1 m/s, gusts up to 5 m/s, haze, fog, air temperature varied in the range from -0.5°C to +10.8°C, relative humidity – from 49 % to 100%), on March 22, 2024, the average daily concentration of PM2.5 is 1.67 MPC, the average daily concentration of PM10 is 1.10 MPC (south-westerly wind with an average speed of 1 m/s was observed, gusts up to 8 m/s, air temperature ranged from -1.5°C to +12.7°C, relative humidity – from 51% to 98%), on March 26, 2024, the average daily concentration of PM2.5 was 1.07 MPC (mainly calm observed, gusts up to 5 m/s, air temperature ranged from -0.3°C to +11.8°C, relative humidity – from 38% to 96%), on March 27, 2024 the average daily concentration of PM2.5 was 1.13 MPC (south-easterly wind prevailed with an average speed of 2 m/s, gusts up to 10 m/s, air temperature ranged from -1.0°C to +12.8°C, relative humidity – from 40% to 92%).

In the air of Mogilev in the area of Pervomaiskaya Street, 10 on March 23, 2024, the average daily concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded the MPC standard by 1.1 times, in the area of Chelyuskintsev Street, 45 – 1.4 times (there was a westerly, southwesterly wind 2-3 m/s, rain, drizzle, air temperature ranged from +6.0°C to 9.2°C, relative humidity – from 70 % up to 96%). In the area of Pervomaiskaya Street,10 on March 27, 2024 at 01:00 a.m. the concentration of nitrogen dioxide was 1.1 MPC (calm, haze were observed, the air temperature was +0.9°C, relative humidity – 78%).

In the air of Minsk in the Uruchye microdistrict on March 27, 2024, the average daily concentration of PM2.5 was 1.45 MPC (there was a southerly, southeasterly wind with an average speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 13 m/s, the air temperature ranged from -2.3°C up to +13.1°C, relative humidity – from 35% to 96%).
