Today, September 14, a touching and significant event took place at Belhydromet — the send-off into a well-deserved retirement of Alla Mikhailovna Shaibak, head of the department of operational data of radiation control and emergency monitoring of the radiation monitoring service.
Alla Mikhailovna's career in the hydrometeorological system began in 1980. Over these years, she became not just a professional of the highest class, but a true pillar and example for her colleagues. Her career is a story of devoted service to the cause: from engineer of the information department and methodological guidance of network laboratories to head of the department of the radiation monitoring service.
In 1998, Alla Mikhailovna was appointed to the position of head of the department for the identification and analysis of environmental contamination zones. In 2011, she headed the emergency response department, and since 2018 she has been the permanent head of the department of operational data of radiation control and emergency monitoring — a division on whose work the timely identification of threats and ensuring safety largely depend.
At the solemn event, warm words addressed to Alla Mikhailovna were spoken by the head of Belhydromet, Sergei Khilman, and colleagues. Sergei Khilman noted her exceptional responsibility, deep knowledge, and ability to make decisions in the most difficult situations. He emphasized that Alla Mikhailovna's experience and mentorship have become an important part of the corporate culture of the service and will remain a guiding reference for new generations of specialists.

Colleagues recalled not only her professional achievements, but also her personal qualities: attentiveness to detail, readiness to help, the ability to support in difficult times, and to pass on knowledge to those who are just beginning their path.

Alla Mikhailovna's retirement marks the end of an entire era in the history of the radiation monitoring service. Her contribution to the development of the monitoring system and ensuring radiation safety is difficult to overestimate.
The team of Belhydromet sincerely thanks Alla Mikhailovna for her many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, and devotion to her cause. We wish her good health, well-being, and joy in the new chapter of her life!
