The 36th session of the CIS MSG is an important international platform for discussing strategically important areas of cooperation, exchanging advanced scientific and technical developments in the field of forecasting and prevention of dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena.
This year, the presence of the President of the World Meteorological Organization, Abdullah Yusuf Ahmed Al-Mandous, attaches particular importance to this event, which will create new opportunities for expanding international cooperation and deepening the exchange of experience between national meteorological services.
Addressing the participants of the event, Sergey Khilman noted:
"The role of the CIS ICH, whose history began on February 8, 1992, in the difficult time of the formation of new states, cannot be overestimated. ICH CIS is a forge of professional unity, where effective solutions to the problems of timely receipt and use of hydrometeorological information are born and partnerships between hydrometeorological services are strengthened.
I would like to note that Belhydromet is an active participant in the interregional meteorological agenda, effectively interacting with the hydrometeorological services of the CIS countries."
During the meeting of the 36th session of the CIS MSG, participants will discuss a number of issues on the activities of national hydrometeorological services, their interaction within the CIS and the WMO, on the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Hydrometeorological Activities of the member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Plan for its implementation. To discuss issues of expanding international cooperation during the visit of the President of the World Meteorological Organization, Dr. Abdullah Yusuf Ahmed Al-Mandusa, to Tashkent.
This session will be a key moment to assess the progress made in achieving the strategic goals outlined for the development of hydrometeorological activities in the CIS region. Special attention will be paid to the integration of national services into the global data and technology exchange system, which will improve the accuracy of forecasts and the effectiveness of warnings about dangerous phenomena.
