BELHYDROMET

From September 16 to 22, 2025, Belarus will join the International Mobility Week, an annual campaign designed to promote the use of alternative modes of transport to cars and raise awareness of the environmental impact of transport. 
The start of the Mobility Week in Minsk will be given on September 16 with a bike ride which will be attended by employees of the central office of Belhydromet and representatives of public organizations. The participants will gather in the parking of the Aqua Minsk Hotel and proceed to the Pobeda Museum and Park Complex where they will lay flowers at the Minsk-Hero City stele.

During the week Belhydromet will pay special attention to air quality monitoring. So, on September 20 and 22, specialists will take measurements at key points in Minsk, identified jointly with the Minsk City Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and the results will be published on the official website of Belhydromet.
The culmination will be the environmental campaign "Day without a Car" on September 22 which will be held under the slogan "Belarus for clean air". As part of the campaign an environmental quiz "Climate of Belarus" will be held at the site near the Sports Palace (Pobediteley Ave., 4) where everyone will be able to test their knowledge.
Regional branches of Belhydromet throughout the country organize a rich program of events:
• Bike rides will be held in Brest, Grodno and Pinsk;
• In Baranovichi and Brest experts will take air quality measurements;
• In Brest, in the Park of culture and Recreation named after the First of May, the branch office will organize a thematic platform and hold an environmental quiz game "A Day without a car";
• Useful information leaflets for drivers and pedestrians will be distributed in Vitebsk;
• In Novopolotsk, Vitebsk and Orsha, branche offices will demonstrate how air samples are collected and analyzed; 
• Gomel will demonstrate the operation of sampling equipment for the determination of pollutants in the atmospheric air – those who wish will be able to observe the process and get acquainted with the results through the mobile application "Weather in your pocket";
• In Mogilev, a mobile laboratory will demonstrate how quickly and accurately the quality of atmospheric air is determined.
