Today, April 30, on the eve of the Labor Day holiday, Belhydromet hosted a round table titled "Meeting of Generations," which brought together representatives of labor dynasties from the state hydrometeorological service in an online format. The event was organized on the initiative of the primary organization of the "Belaya Rus" public association.

The event served as a platform to honor families for whom Belhydromet is more than just a workplace – it is a calling passed down from generation to generation.
Viktoryia Nevadnichaya, Deputy Head for Ideological Work and Ulladimir Kasyanenka, Head of the International Cooperation Department and Chairman of the "Belaya Rus" public association, addressed the participants with welcoming words.
"Good afternoon, dear colleagues, guests, and representatives of glorious labor dynasties! We have gathered here to pay tribute to the families for whom Belhydromet is not just a job, but a life's work passed down from generation to generation. In such families, knowledge, experience, and love for the profession become the living history of our institution. Behind every weather forecast we see on our smartphones, behind every storm warning in the news, lies the meticulous work of hydrometeorological service specialists. Today, we will talk with those who have dedicated decades to this important mission."
Ulladimir Kasyanenka added that labor dynasties are not only a symbol of continuity but also an example of patriotism, professionalism, and dedication to the cause.
During the meeting, nine dynasties were presented, with a total combined work experience exceeding 600 years. Among them are families where grandparents began working back in Soviet times, and their grandchildren are now mastering digital technologies, automated observation systems, and satellite data. Special attention was paid to women-led labor dynasties – and this is no coincidence. In the Year of the Belarusian Woman, the focus on the fairer sex takes on special significance. Symbolically, young people were also present at the event – the living link between generations and the guarantee of the continuity of these glorious traditions.

Each family shared their stories: how their journey into the profession began, what difficulties they faced, and what inspires them to continue working in this field. Many noted that weather is not just a science – it is a calling. Participants discussed how the work of the hydrometeorological service has changed over recent decades. Whereas in the past everything was done manually – taking readings, drawing up forecasts from maps – today modern automated systems, satellite data, and artificial intelligence are used. However, as the senior representatives of the dynasties noted, the key is not the tools, but the responsibility. Young employees, in turn, spoke about how much they value the advice of their senior colleagues, because the experience accumulated over the years cannot be replaced by any program.

The round table was not only a tribute of respect but also an opportunity for exchanging experience, mentorship, and inspiration. Many participants noted that such meetings strengthen corporate spirit and help young specialists feel part of a large family.
Labor dynasties are not just a beautiful story. They are living continuity, professional ethics, and love for the homeland and nature.
Belhydromet thanks everyone who, day after day, stands guard over the country's weather safety, who passes on their knowledge to their children and grandchildren, making our service stronger, wiser and more humane.
