Information on the hydrometeorological situation in the river basins of the Republic of Belarus, formed in July 2021

In July, the national average air temperature was +22.5°C, which is 4.1°C higher than the climatic norm, the above zero temperature anomaly spread throughout Belarus.
During the month, 66.0 mm of precipitation fell on average in the republic, which amounted to 78% of the climatic norm. Precipitation spread over the territory of the country extremely unevenly. Most precipitation in a month fell on the territory of the Brest region - 126% of the climatic norm, the least amount of precipitation (33% of the climatic norm) fell on the territory of the Vitebsk region.
During the month, precipitation was mainly of a torrential nature, in some areas the rains reached the criterion of a dangerous phenomenon, as a result of which for a short time on the Western Dvina near the city of Vitebsk and Berezina near the city of Bobruisk, conditions for the operation of river transport improved, on the tributary of the Western Bug, the Lesnaya River near the town of Kamenets, the water level exceeded the mark of water outlet to the floodplain.
In July, on the rivers of the country, there was mainly a decline in water levels, as a result of which on the Dnieper near Loyev, Berezina near Svetlogorsk and Sozhe near Gomel, water levels dropped below dangerous low marks limiting navigation on the Berezina tributary, the Sushanka River near e. On dry land, the water level dropped below the mark of water outlet to the floodplain.
Unfavorable conditions for the operation of river transport were noted on the navigable sections of the Western Dvina, Neman, Dnieper, Berezina and Sozh.
At the end of July, the water content of the Neman, Viliya and Berezina was close to the norm and somewhat less than it; the water content of the Western Dvina, Dnieper, Sozh and Pripyat was significantly less than usual for this time of year.
The average water temperature in the rivers in July was 20-26°C, which is 2-5°C higher than usual for this time of the year.
