BELHYDROMET

Young specialists of Belhydromet (aged under 25) made a strong showing at the International Youth Competition of Social Anti-Corruption Advertising “Together against corruption!” The team did not merely respond to an important social challenge – they creatively and deeply reflected on the issue, presenting their ideas in three categories at once: poster, drawing, and video.

The scale of this year’s competition is impressive: as of 9 September 2026, 4,500 participants from 20 countries had submitted their works – 6,406 works in total. Against this backdrop, it is especially valuable that as many as 10 creative projects by Belhydromet youth are participating in the semi-final.

Each work is a standalone statement about why corruption is dangerous and how society can counter it.

Elena Ganusevich (22), a software engineer at Belhydromet’s Software Support Service, in her drawing “The weight of decision” visualised the core dilemma of corruption – the conflict between material gain and moral downfall.

Daria Velichko (21), a specialist at the Ideological Work Department, in her poster “Belhydromet: reliability, accuracy, integrity!” linked the theme of an anti-corruption stance with the values of our organisation. The central metaphor is a shining diamond droplet containing the image of a weather station. In this way, the author emphasises: purity, value, and perfection are the foundation of our work.

Anna Mazanovich (25), Head of the Department of the “Brestoblhydromet” Branch, in her poster “Your ‘NO!’ matters” focused on personal civic position: active resistance to corrupt actions is everyone’s duty. The work reminds us of simple but important rules: “Don’t offer!”, “Don’t accept!” and “Report!”

Vadim Tatarinov (24), Head of the Maintenance Department of the “Mogilevoblhydromet” Branch, in his poster “Today’s youth do not stay silent” showed that the desire for honesty and mutual respect is stronger than hypocrisy and self-interest.

A whole series of expressive works was presented by Denis Roslenko (22), an agro-meteorologist at the “Vitebskoblhydromet” Branch:
- “The future without corruption” – about the power of a united society: young people hold a shield inscribed “Honesty. Unity”, protecting the city from darkness and destruction.

- “Corruption – an unreliable investment” – the metaphor of a destroyed bridge shows how short-term gain undermines the foundations of well-being and puts the future at risk.

- “Cut corruption at the root” – the image of puppets controlled by money, and young people cutting these strings: in this way, the author speaks of freedom, honesty, and responsibility as a personal choice for everyone.

Konstantin Trestyan (23), an engineer at the “Gomeloblhydromet” Branch, in his poster “Connections and favours – a path through mud” showed how a dishonest path destroys reputation and dignity: dirty footprints, a stuck shoe, a gloomy castle in the fog, and a swamp that has swallowed other people’s fates – powerful symbols that make you think.

Maria Abramuk (23), a leading engineer-hydrologist at the “Brestoblhydromet” Branch, presented the video “Together we are against corruption!” It shows a principled stance in countering corruption: personal refusal of illegal gain, internal control mechanisms, and interagency cooperation as the foundation of trust in government bodies.

Participation in such a competition is not merely a creative experiment, but part of building a culture of conscientious and transparent work. For young specialists, it is an opportunity to express their position and learn to speak about complex topics clearly and convincingly, while for the organisation it is confirmation that Belhydromet’s values – reliability, accuracy, and integrity – are shared by the new generation of employees.
