Belhydromet took part in an environmental event of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Belarusian Orthodox Church

On September 4, 2026, a significant environmental event was held, organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection together with the Belarusian Orthodox Church.

The event was timed to coincide with the Day of Prayer for God's Creation and took place on the territory of the church complex in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in Minsk.

The event was attended by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Veniamin, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Alexei Stasyukevich, Head of Belhydromet Siarhei Khilman, and other high-ranking officials. In a solemn atmosphere, they laid out an alley of mountain pine. Five saplings were planted on the territory of the church complex.

The program of the event included:

- a prayer service for the preservation of God's creation;
- speeches by representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Belarusian Orthodox Church;
- a dialogue platform on issues of environmental service;
- master classes for children and youth.

Special attention was paid to the interaction of young people with the environmental and spiritual aspects of nature conservation. More than 100 people took part in the event, including students of Sunday schools, representatives of youth organizations, and active youth of the capital.
The event became a vivid example of successful cooperation between government structures and religious organizations in the field of environmental protection and environmental education of the population.
