Overview of hydrological situation of May 3, 2024

There have been no significant changes in the hydrological situation over the past day. Currently there is an increase in water levels with an intensity of 1-6 cm per day on the Dnieper in the Rechitsa – Loev section, the Berezina in the Berezino – Svetlogorsk section, the Neman near the town of Stolbtsy and some small rivers. In the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as in the Western Dvina, the Vilia, the Sozh and the Pripyat, there is a decrease in water levels with a daily intensity of up to 38 cm.
Most of the country's rivers have floodplain water.
On the Dnieper near the town of Zhlobin, a tributary of the Sozh river Pronya near the village Letyagi, the Pripyat near the town of Petrikov and its tributary the Ptich River near the village of Persha Slobodka, water levels exceed dangerously high levels. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels on the Pripyat near the village of Chernichi and its tributary the Sluch River near agrotown Lenin.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in a number of districts of the Gomel region, as well as in some areas of the Brest and Mogilev regions.
The water temperature in rivers ranges from 9.2°C to 19°C, in reservoirs - from 12°C to 18°C.
In the coming days, a decrease in water levels will prevail on the rivers, as a result of which the water level on the Pripyat near Petrikov will drop below a dangerously high level.
