Over the past period (May 16-19), precipitation caused an increase in water levels on most rivers across the country, as a result of which navigation conditions for water transport improved on the Sozh near Slavgorod and the Dnieper near Zhlobin.
As of May 20, an increase in water levels was observed with an intensity of up to 65 cm per day on the rivers of the Western Dvina basin, with an intensity of up to 19 cm per day on the rivers of the Dnieper and Sozh basins, with an intensity of up to 7 cm per day on the rivers of the Vilia, Neman and Berezina basins. On the rivers of the Pripyat basin a decrease in water levels was observed with a daily intensity of 1-2 cm.
On the Neman in Grodno, the Dnieper in Mogilev, the Berezina in Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk water levels are below the levels limiting navigation.
The water temperature ranges from 8.6°C to 15°C in rivers and from 11°С to 14°С reservoirs.
By the end of this week fluctuations in water levels with a tendency to increase will be observed on the rivers, conditions for river transport will improve on the Dnieper near Mogilev.
