Overview of hydrological situation of May 20, 2024
In the past day, on the Berezina near Svetlogorsk and the Sozh tributary of the Besed River near agrotown Svetilovichi water entered the riverbed.
As of May 20, the water levels of the spring flood continue to decrease on the rivers of the country. The depth of flooding of floodplain lands has decreased and is up to 176 cm in the basins of the Dnieper, 74 cm is in the Sozh, and 62 cm is in the Pripyat.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal areas in the Gomel region persists.
On the Neman river near Grodno the water level is below the dangerous level for navigation.
The water temperature has increased and ranges in rivers from 12°C to 19°C, in reservoirs - from 16°C to 20°C.
In the next five days, the rivers will mainly experience a decrease in water levels. On the Sozh near Gomel, the Pripyat near Narovlya, its tributary to the river Chyorot, water levels will drop below the water outlet marks on the floodplain, and on the Dnieper near Mogilev, the water level will approach a dangerously low mark, at which difficulties arise in the operation of river transport. The water temperature will rise.
