Overview of hydrological situation of May 18, 2024

As of May 18, the water levels of the spring flood continue to decline on the rivers of the country, as a result of which the depth of flooding of floodplain lands is gradually decreasing and currently amounts to 191 cm in the basins of the Dnieper, the Sozh - up to 78 cm, the Pripyat - up to 68 cm, the Berezina up to 1 cm.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal areas in the Gomel and Brest regions persists.
On the Neman river near Grodno the water level is below the dangerous level for navigation.
The water temperature has increased and ranges in rivers from 10°C to 18°C, in reservoirs - from 15°C to 19°C.
In the coming days the decline in water levels on the rivers will continue, and the water temperature will rise.
