Overview of hydrological situation of March 1, 2021

In the past period (February 26-28), the synoptic situation contributed to an increase in water levels, as a result of which on Pripyat near Chernichi, its tributary to the Ptich River near the village of 1st Slobodka and the tributary of the Western Bug to the Narev near the village of Nemerzha, the water levels exceeded the level of water outlet to the floodplain. Separate tributaries of the Western Dvina, Sozh and Pripyat opened up, the tributaries of the Neman, Viliya, Berezina, Sozh and Pripyat were partially cleared of ice formations.
As of March 1, over the greater length of the Western Dvina, Dnieper, Sozh, Berezina and Pripyat, some parts of the Neman and Viliya, freeze-up is observed, in the ice cover there are openings, cracks and water on the ice.
On the rivers of the country, the water levels of spring floods are growing everywhere with a daily intensity of 1-39 cm. On the Neman near the village of Belitsa, Viliya near the village of Steshitsy, the Dnieper near the town of Loev, the Berezina near the town of Berezino, its tributary to the river Svisloch near the village. Terebuty, Pripyat near the village of Chernichi and its tributary, the Ptich river near the village of 1st Slobodka, as well as on the tributary of the Western Bug river, the Narev near the village of Nemerzha, the water levels exceed the water level on the floodplain.
In the coming days, the water levels of the spring flood on the rivers of the country will continue to increase, as a result of which the water levels on the Sozh near the town of Slavgorod, the Styr rivers near the village of Lopatino and Sluch near the village of Lenin, the tributaries of the Pripyat rivers, will exceed the water level on the floodplain. A tributary of the Western Dvina, the Obol river, a tributary of the Dnieper, the Ivnya-Bonda,channel, the Pripyat tributary, the Sluch river near the village of Klepchany, will open up.
