Overview of hydrological situation of January, 19 2024

As of January 19, glaciation and glaciation with polynyas are observed everywhere on the rivers of the country. There is a solid ice cover on the reservoirs Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye, however, the ice structure is heterogeneous, and caution should be exercised when moving on ice.
Fluctuations in water levels with daily intensity persist on rivers: in the basins of the Western Dvina and Vilia up to 45 cm, in the basins of the Neman, Dnieper, Berezina, Sozh and Pripyat up to 10 cm. On most rivers, water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain.
On the tributaries of the Pripyat rivers, the Sluch near the agrotown Lenin and the Ptich near the village of Pershaya Slobodka, water levels exceed dangerously high levels, and on the Neman tributary of the Shchara River near Slonim, the water level is close to a dangerously high level, 25 cm remains before it is reached, there is an increase in the water level with an intensity of 8 cm per day.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of bridges and sections of highways is noted in some areas of the Gomel and Mogilev regions.
No significant changes are expected in the river level and ice regimes in the coming days.
