Overview of hydrological situation of January 19, 2023

In the past day on the Berezina in the area of Svetlogorsk, as well as its tributary to the Sushanka river at the village of Susha water came out on the floodplain. The Dnieper River was opened in the area of the town of Loev. The Dnieper River in the area of Orsha, Pripyat in the area of Petrikov, some of their tributaries and some tributaries of the Zapadnaya Dvina, Vilia, Berezina were cleared of ice formations.

Currently, along the entire length of the Berezina, Sozh, the Zapadnaya Dvina near the town of Surazh and the settlement Ulla, the Dnieper on the Mogilev –Zhlobin section, their individual tributaries, as well as the Pripyat near Narovlya, there is incomplete ice formation and ice formation with polynyas, spaces with an open water surface have increased, the ice has darkened and is melting in place, water on ice is marked. On the lakes of Drivyaty, Naroch, Chervonoye, the reservoirs of Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye and Krasnaya Sloboda, a solid ice cover remains, water is observed on ice, ice melts in place and its strength decreases, only on Lake Lukomskoye there is incomplete ice. It is dangerous to move on the ice!

On the rivers, there is an increase in water levels with an intensity of 1-56 cm per day. On most rivers, the water is on the floodplain.

On the Sozh tributary of the Pronya river at the village Letyagi the water level is 24 cm higher than the dangerously high mark, there is a decrease in the water level with an intensity of 5 cm per day. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels on the Dnieper near the town of Loev, Berezina near the town of Bobruisk, Pripyat near the village of Chernichi, Petrikov, Mozyr and Narovlya, its tributaries the rivers Sluch near the settlement Lenin and Ptich near the village Pershaya Slobodka.

In some areas of the Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev regions, flooding by river waters is noted.

In the coming days, the difficult hydrometeorological situation will continue. On a tributary of the Pripyat river Sluch at the settlement Lenin the water level will again exceed the dangerously high mark.
