Overview of hydrological situation of January 05, 2021

In the past period (December 31 - January 4), weather conditions contributed to the opening and clearing of rivers from ice formations.
As of January 5, freeze-up and freeze-up with openings is observed on the Western Dvina near the city of Surazh and the village of Ulla, a tributary of the Sozh to the Besed river. On the reservoirs Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Drivyaty and Chervoneye, the ice cover is preserved, but the spaces with an open water surface in it have increased, the structure of the ice has changed, it is extremely dangerous to go out on the ice. On lake Naroch, there are shores.
As a result of precipitation on the rivers of the country, an increase in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-11 cm is observed, as a result of which the water level on the Svisloch River, a tributary of the Berezina River near the village of Terebuty, has reached the level of water outlet to the floodplain.
In the coming days, the ice cover will continue to melt on the country's water bodies, the water levels on the rivers will continue to rise, as a result of which the water levels in the Viliya near the village of Steshitsa and the tributary of the Berezina river Sushanka near the village of Suha will approach the water levels on the floodplain.
At the end of this week, due to the expected drop in air temperature, ice formation processes will resume on the rivers.
