Overview of hydrological situation of February, 29 2024

In the past day, the ice was broken on a tributary of the Western Dvina of the river Polota near the village Yankovo, the Western Dvina River near Verkhnedvinsk, the Dnieper tributary of the Drut River near Gorodishche village and the Pripyat tributary of the Ptich River near the village were cleared of ice formations at the village Daraganovo.
As of February 29, ice formation and ice formation with rims are observed on the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh, the village Ulla, its tributary the Drysa River, the Sozh near the town of Krichev and its tributary the Besed River. On the reservoirs of Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye, ice is frozen, ice with polynyas and rims, ice drifts away from the shore, it is forbidden to go out on the ice.
On the rivers, there is an increase in water levels with an intensity of 1-46 cm per day and their smooth course. Most rivers have floodplain water.
Water levels exceed dangerously high levels in the Pripyat at Chernichi village, Petrikov town, its tributaries the Ptich River at Persha Slobodka village, Sluch at agrotown Lenin, Tsna at agrotown Dyatlovichi, on the Neman tributary of the Shchara River near Slonim, the Dnieper tributary of the Drut River near Gorodishche village and the Sozh tributary of the Pronya River near the village Letyagi.
Water levels are close to dangerous levels in the Pripyat near the city of Mozyr, 7 cm remains before it is reached, there is a decrease in the water level with an intensity of 3 cm per day and its tributary to the river Yablot near the village of Krasnoberezhye, 12 cm remains before it is reached, there is a decrease in the water level with an intensity of 2 cm per day.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in most areas of the Gomel and Mogilev regions, in some areas of the Brest, Grodno, Minsk and Vitebsk regions.
In the coming days, there will be an increase in water levels on the rivers. The melting of ice and the purification of rivers from ice formations will continue, the ice will be broken at the Western Dvina near the village of Ulla and its tributary the Drysa River near the village of Dernovichi will open.
