Overview of hydrological situation of December 21, 2020

In the past period (December 16-20), the synoptic situation facilitated the opening and clearing of ice formations of the rivers of the Neman and Viliya basins, most of the rivers of the Pripyat basin, and individual sections of the rivers of the Western Dvina, Dnieper, Berezina and Sozh basins.
As of December 21, landfast ice and shuga-drift are noted along the entire length of the Sozh, Western Dvina near Polotsk, Dnieper near Mogilev, Berezina near Bobruisk, Pripyat near Chernichi and Narovlya, some of their tributaries and on the Neman near Stolbtsy.
Freeze-up and freeze-up with openings are observed on the Western Dvina near the city of Surazh and the village of Ulla and most of its tributaries. The Dnieper near the town of Zhlobin and the town of Rechitsa, the Berezina near the town of Borisov, the town of Berezino, the town of Svetlogorsk, and their individual tributaries, as well as on Pripyat near the town of Petrikov and the town of Mozyr, in some places water is noted on the ice.
On lake Naroch, there are shores. On the reservoirs Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Drivyaty and Chervoneye, a thin ice cover is preserved, in places there are spaces with an open water surface. Going out on the ice is extremely dangerous.
On the rivers of the country, fluctuations in water levels are observed with a daily intensity of 1-13 cm.
In the coming days, the slow melting of ice on the country's water bodies will continue, the Polota river will open up, and the Disna, Ubort, and Ptich rivers will be cleared of ice formations.
