Overview of hydrological situation of December 20, 2024
As of December 20, on most rivers of the basins of the Western Dvina, the Dnieper, the Sozh, as well as on certain sections of the Berezina, there are land-fast ict and ice run. On the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh, agrotown Ulla, its separate tributaries and the Sozh tributary of the Besed River near agrotown Svetilovichi freeze-up with polynyas is observed. Thin ice cover with polynyas and rims cover is observed on the reservoirs Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda and Lake Chervonoye.
Fluctuations in water levels with an intensity of 1-34 cm per day are observed on the rivers of the country.
In the coming days fluctuations in water levels on rivers will persist, and no significant changes are expected in the ice situation.
