Overview of hydrological situation of December, 20 2023

In the past period (December 16-19), precipitation, melting of snow and ice cover caused an increase in water levels on the rivers, as a result of which water levels in some sections of the rivers exceeded the water outlet marks on the floodplain.
As of December 20, glaciation is observed on the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh, agrotown Ulla and some of its tributaries, the Dnieper near Orsha and Zhlobin, the Berezina near Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk, as well as on the Sozh near Krichev, however, spaces with an open water surface have increased in the ice cover, the ice has darkened, the ice has lifted in places. At the reservoirs Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye, ice formation and ice formation with polynyas are noted, water on ice is observed. It is extremely dangerous to go out on the ice.
The rivers continue to increase water levels with an intensity of up to 61 cm per day.
Water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain at the Vilia near agrotown Steshitsy, the Sozh near Slavgorod, a tributary of the Dnieper, the Ivnya-Bond canal near Budka village, a tributary of the Berezina to the Bobr River near Kuta village and tributaries of the Pripyat rivers Sluch at agrotown Lenin and the Ptych at the village of Pershaya Slobodka.
In the coming days there will be an increase in water levels on the rivers, as a result of which, on the Berezina tributary, the Svisloch River near Terebuta and the Pripyat tributary Styr River near Lopatino village, the water will reach the floodplain.
