Overview of hydrological situation of December, 15 2023
In the past period (December 12-14), the unstable nature of the weather contributed to the destruction of ice formations in certain sections of rivers, water appeared on the ice.
As of December 15, glaciation is observed in certain sections of the Western Dvina, the Dnieper, the Berezina, the Sozh, the Pripyat, the Neman near Mosty town, however, spaces with an open water surface are noted in the ice cover. The reservoirs of Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye have ice sheets 4-23 cm thick, in places there are polynyas in the ice cover, it is dangerous to go out on the ice.
Fluctuations in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-24 cm per day are observed on rivers.
On the Sozh near Slavgorod, a tributary of the Dnieper, the Ivnya-Bond canal near Budka village and tributaries of the Pripyat rivers Sluch near agrotown Lenin and Ptich at the village of Pershaya Slobodka, water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain.
In the coming days, an increase in water levels will prevail on rivers, spaces with an open water surface will increase in the ice cover, and water on ice will be noted.
