Overview of hydrological situation of December, 11 2023
In the past period (December 6-10) ice formation processes and the ice cover setting continued on the rivers of the country. Fluctuations in water levels persisted on the rivers, sometimes sharp, as a result of which the water level in the Sozh near Slavgorod exceeded the water outlet mark on the floodplain.
As of December 11, ice and ice with polynyas are observed on most rivers of the basins of the Western Dvina, the Dnieper and the Berezina, certain sections of the Neman, the Sozh and the Pripyat, as well as on some of their tributaries. There are guards on Lake Naroch. The reservoirs of Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye have ice pack thickness of 4-18 cm, it is dangerous to go out on the ice.
Fluctuations in water levels with an intensity of up to 21 cm per day are noted on rivers.
On the Sozh near Slavgorod, a tributary of the Dnieper, the Ivnya-Bond canal near Budka village and the Pripyat tributary of the Sluch River near agro-town Lenin water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain.
In the coming days, due to the unstable nature of the weather, an increase in water levels will be observed on the rivers, and ice formation processes are not expected to intensify.
