Review of the agrometeorological situation of September 6, 2019
In most of Belarus agrometeorological conditions are favorable for agricultural field work: harvest of potato, vegetables, fodder conservation, flax straw lift and winter cereal crops sowing. Rains in the first half of week has moistened topsoil – according to recent data of visual observations, 10 cm topsoil is in a moderate moistened state in many areas that allows to carry out soil treatment for winter cereal crops sowings. 10 cm topsoil is poor moistened mainly in the south-east of the country and some areas of the south-west region with least of precipitations (according to data of some meteorological stations, there wasn’t any rain in the south-east). According to data of meteorological stations Mozyr and Vasilevichi, soil is dry at depth of 10 cm. Conditions for winter cereal crops sowings are unfavorable.
In the coming days, warm weather and precipitation deficit, mainly in the south-east area of Belarus, will contribute to further moisture loss and increase of areas with insufficient topsoil moistening.
