Review of the agrometeorological situation of September 04, 2018
According to operational determination of soil moisture made on 28 August, moisture content under root crops, herbs, winter rape was good in most of the country. However, because of precipitation deficit, moisture content is poor in many areas of Gomel region, in places of south-western part of Mogilev region and in the east of Minsk region. Moisture deficit worsens conditions for herbs regrowth, root crops growth, soil treatment for sowing of winter cereal crops, emergence of seedlings and further development of winter rape. Water availability of agricultural crops is satisfactory in some areas of southern part of Belarus. Recent rains fulfilled moisture content in soil in general in north-west of the Republic.
Because of expected deficit of precipitations, deficit of moisture content remain in the south-eastern part of the country which adversely affects winter cereal crops sowing, regrowth of herbs and root crops harvest formation.
