Review of the agrometeorological situation of October, 5, 2018
Erratic temperature limits development of winter crops. According to recent data, seedlings and third leaf are observed on the main lands of winter cereal crops, seeds germination – on the lands sown at the end of September – in the beginning of October. Formation of leaf rosette continues on the winter rape. Water availability of winter crops is sufficient.
After past rains there is an overmoistening of topsoil on the heavy lands in some areas of Vitebsk region. Harvest works and agrotechnichal activities for winter crops care are difficult to carry out here.
In the coming days as temperature becomes higher, agrometeorological conditions will ameliorate and contribute to further development of winter crops. Weather conditions will be in general favourable for harvest work at the end of current decade.
