Review of the agrometeorological situation of October, 31, 2018
According to recent observation data, 10 cm topsoil on most of Belarus is in a well-moistened state. After past rains, areas with overmoistening increased in Vitebsk and Grodno regions. Heavy moistening is registered also in some areas of Brest and Minsk regions that could influence the harvest of late vegetables, potato, sugar beet and maize.
Winter cereal crops grow bushy in most of observation areas. Seedlings and third leaf are observed on the fields sown on late September - in the beginning of October. Formation of leaf rosette continues on the sowings of winter rape.
In the coming days agrometeorological conditions for winter crops will be favourable, vegetation of winter crops will continue that will allow them to get additional growth.
