Review of the agrometeorological situation of October, 2, 2018
Rains of third decade of September significantly ameliorated water availability of winter crops. Winter crops development is proceeding with sufficient moisture content in soil. Productive moisture content in ploughing horizon is decreased only in eastern parts of Brest region and in the eastern and central parts of Gomel region. Moisture content is increased in the north-west and south-east of Vitebsk region. According to recent data, seedlings and third leaf are registered on most of the winter cereal crops sowing; tillering of wheat has started on the earliest sowings. Emergence of seedlings is registered on sites sown in the third decade. Visual status assessment are good.
Unstable temperature of first decade of October will limit winter crops development.
Expected rains will worsen harvest conditions in the middle of next week.
