Review of the agrometeorological situation of March 10, 2020
According to the latest visual observations on light soils the upper 10-cm layer reached a moderate wet condition in the Gomel region, in the greater part of the Brest region, as well as in many areas of the Minsk region. Processing and fertilizing became possible in areas with dry soils. Strong and excessive soil moisture remains over the great territory of the republic. Past rains increased moisture content in soil ploughed horizon.
In the near future drying and heating of the soil will slow down due to unstable weather and unstable temperature conditions. Freezing of the upper soil layer is possible under the influence of negative night temperatures.
Wintering of winter crops was quite successful. Winter crops began vegetation more active in the south of Belarus under the influence of warm weather.
