Review of the agrometeorological situation of June 28, 2019
Past rains fulfilled soil moisture in many area of the Republic. Agrometeorological conditions for spike filling of cereal crops, aftergrowth of herbs after cutting, growth and development of maize, potato and root crops ameliorated. According to recent data of visual observations, 10 cm topsoil is good moistened in large territories of country. Favorable conditions for ripping of inter-row spacing of vegetable and arable crops and potato hilling-up are food.
Because of uneven distribution of precipitations, mainly in the western part of the Republic, deficit of soil moisture still remains. Soil is still dry at depth of 10 cm in the western and extreme south-western parts of Brest region, in the south-west of Vitebsk region and south-east of Gomel region. Agrotechnical activities for plant treatment are difficult to carry out, vegetable crops need water application, difficult agrometeorological conditions are observed.
In the coming days, formation of agricultural crops harvest will be characterized by conditions of sufficient water availability in many area of the Republic.
