Overview of agrometeorological situation of September 3, 2024
According to the results of instrumental determination of soil moisture in most of the Brest, Gomel and places in the south of the Mogilev region, the observed fields have low reserves of productive moisture. According to some weather stations in the Gomel region the arable horizon is completely dried up. Due to the lack of moisture, the agrometeorological conditions for the growth of root crops, the regrowth of herbs, and the formation of a harvest of late vegetables have deteriorated.
At the time of the determination sufficient moisture supply remained in Vitebsk, in most districts of Grodno and Minsk, as well as in the north-east of the Mogilev region. In the near future, due to the expected shortage of precipitation, atmospheric drought will intensify, areas with lack of soil moisture will expand.
