Overview of agrometeorological situation of September 23, 2021
Over the past decade, the duration of sunshine in the main areas of beet growing turned out to be less than the average long-term values. Cold rainy weather is unfavorable for the accumulation of sugars in sugar beet roots. As of September 20, the average weight of root crops on the main tracts exceeded last year's indicators for the same period. On the observed fields, the phase of “yellowing of the lower leaves” was noted in sugar beets, and harvesting began. In the near future agrometeorological conditions will not change significantly, in many regions waterlogging of the upper soil layer will remain which will complicate harvesting.
