Overview of agrometeorological situation of September 17, 2026
Agrometeorological conditions for the formation of the corn harvest this year were satisfactory. Moisture availability across most of Belarus remained sufficient. However, in the southern regions, the crop was partially affected by soil drought. The temperature regime in mid-summer was often below optimal for corn development. Nevertheless, the accumulated sum of effective temperatures above +10°C exceeded last year's figures. Warm weather in late August and the first half of September promoted the onset of corn grain ripening. During this time, farms began mass harvesting of corn for silage.
According to the latest data, in unharvested fields, corn is mainly at the wax and full ripeness stages, and in some late-sown areas, grain filling is still ongoing.
In the second half of September, due to unstable weather, conditions for the ripening and drying of corn grain, as well as for harvesting operations, will be less than favorable.
