Overview of agrometeorological situation of September 16, 2021
This year, due to the lowered temperature regime, sowing of maize began later, the emergence of seedlings was delayed, and further good heat supply contributed to the growth of the vegetative mass of maize. The sufficiency of soil moisture remained in most areas of the western half of the republic, moisture reserves in the eastern part of the country decreased to satisfactory, and in some places to low values. According to the latest observation data corn has reached full ripeness of grain on unharvested fields, in the northern part of the country it is mainly waxy ripeness, and in late sowing, grain is still being poured.
In the near future, due to the expected rains, conditions for the maturation and drying of corn grain, as well as for harvesting operations, will worsen.
