Overview of agrometeorological situation of October 8, 2024
The past rains have replenished the soil moisture content, most significantly in the southeastern part and in the central region of Belarus. In areas where for a long time there was a lack of moisture due to a lack of precipitation, the agrometeorological conditions for soil cultivation and the emergence of winter grain crops have improved markedly. According to the latest visual observations almost everywhere the upper 10-centimeter soil layer is well moistened in places in the southeastern and northwestern parts of the country it is waterlogged.
An increase in the temperature regime expected in the middle of this week combined with an abundance of moisture will contribute to the emergence of seedlings in late crops and the further development of winter crops. In areas with waterlogged soil in the near future conditions for harvesting will not develop in the best way.
