According to the results of instrumental determination of soil moisture, the reserves of productive moisture on the main tracts of winter grain crops are good. Only in some areas in the south and southeast of the republic on light soils moisture reserves are satisfactory.
Passing short-term rains do not significantly affect the rate of field agricultural work. Frosts expected in the middle of the third decade of October pose a danger to roots dug up and left without shelter.
