Overview of agrometeorological situation of November 1, 2024
Despite the lack of precipitation observed in the past decade, the moisture supply of winter crops in the main areas remains sufficient. The reserves of productive moisture in the soil are mostly good and on light soils in the southern part of the country they are satisfactory. At the end of October tillering (the optimal phase for overwintering) of winter cereals was observed in about half of the areas. Visual assessments of the condition of crops according to weather stations are mostly good.
In the near future the vegetation of winter crops will be suspended. Due to the cold snap and expected precipitation conditions for the completion of harvesting of late vegetables and root crops are deteriorating. At the same time soil moisture reserves will increase.
