Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 4, 2021
According to the results of the instrumental determination of soil moisture in most of the territory of Belarus, the moisture supply of agricultural crops is good. In the north and east of Mogilev, in some areas of Vitebsk and Minsk regions, moisture reserves are increased. At the same time, due to the uneven distribution of precipitation in part of the areas in the west and southeast of the republic under grain crops and perennial grasses, mainly in the arable soil layer, moisture reserves at the time of moisture determination were satisfactory.
After the rains in late April and early May, according to visual observations, in most areas of the Vitebsk, Grodno and Mogilev regions, there is a strong moistening of the upper 10-centimeter soil layer, which makes it difficult to carry out field agricultural work. In the near future, waterlogging of the soil will persist in some areas.
