Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 15, 2021
The last rains, strong in places, again led to waterlogging of the soil in a number of regions of the republic. According to the latest observation data, strong moisture in the upper 10-centimeter soil layer was noted by meteorological stations in the northern part and in the west of the republic, as well as in some places in the Mogilev and Minsk regions. In the rest of Belarus, the topsoil is moderately moist. In the coming week, good moisture availability in combination with a moderate temperature regime will be favorable for the growth of the vegetative mass of grasses, the formation of the productivity of grain crops and rapeseed. However, the expected rather frequent rains will complicate the conditions for chemical weeding of crops against weeds.
