In most of the territory of Belarus, due to lack of precipitation, the soil moisture content decreased, especially in the southern part, where, according to the results of instrumental determination, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil remain satisfactory. According to a number of weather stations in the Brest and Gomel regions, as well as in the north-west of the country, productive moisture reserves are low on light soils. Good moisture supply remains in the northern half of Belarus, and moisture reserves are increased in some areas of Vitebsk and Mogilev oblasts.
The rains expected in the near future should improve the moisture supply of crops, but the cold weather will restrain the development of plants.
