Overview of agrometeorological situation of March 4, 2024

According to the results of the February regrowth winter crops have normal viability. A slightly increased sparsity of grain was observed in some observed fields in the southern half of the country. In winter barley in some areas of the Gomel region significant sparseness was recorded with the death of 20-30% of plants in the sample. Winter rapeseed as shown by regrowth suffered worse from the February frosts – about a quarter of the samples showed slightly increased thinness. In many samples in Gomel, in isolated samples in Mogilev and in the east of the Brest region a strong rarefaction of rapeseed was recorded.

According to the latest observations there is no snow cover in most of the country. This week an increase in the temperature regime will contribute to the thawing of the soil. Mainly in the south-western region the resumption of vegetation of winter crops is expected.
