Overview of agrometeorological situation of March 2, 2023
The results of re-growing, carried out at the end of February, confirmed that winter crops have normal viability in the observed fields. In most of the samples, there was no rarefaction or it did not exceed the natural death. In the Gomel region, a slightly increased thinness of winter wheat was recorded due to soaking.
Winter rapeseed was affected by low temperatures and uneven snow cover during periods of cold spells. Overwintering of rapeseed is the worst in the Gomel region, here in half of the samples the sparseness is somewhat increased, in some samples the sparseness turned out to be significant and strong.
According to the latest snow survey, snow cover remains mainly in the northern half of Belarus in the fields. In the first decade of March, no active development of spring processes is expected on the territory of the republic.
