Overview of agrometeorological situation of March 16, 2022
The freezing of the top layer of soil is still observed in most of the country. The depth of freezing is greater in the east, in the northern and northwestern regions of the republic. In the past period of March, there was practically no precipitation in Belarus, which, in conditions of the predominance of sunny weather, leads to a loss of soil moisture. Until the end of the second decade of March, stable heat is not expected; under the influence of negative temperatures at night, the topsoil will still freeze slightly. Such weather conditions will delay the start of spring field work and the resumption of the vegetation of winter crops.
