Low temperature regime favours the formation of productivity of grain crops, growth of grasses, growth and development of flax, potatoes and root crops. At the same time, passing rains create prerequisites for the development of diseases and unfavourable conditions for hay harvesting. According to the latest data, in a number of districts, especially in the northern region of Belarus, the upper 10-centimetre layer of soil is strongly and excessively moistened. The most part of the country is moderately moistened, which makes it possible to carry out loosening of row spacing of vegetable and row crops and potato perching with good quality.
Rains expected in the near future will increase soil moisture reserves, creating risks of excessive moisture. Lack of heat will restrain the development of maize and heat-loving vegetable crops.
