Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 21, 2023
As a result of uneven precipitation on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, there are differences in the moisture availability of agricultural crops. The past rains have significantly replenished the moisture reserves in the soil in a number of areas of the eastern part and the central region. According to the results of instrumental determination of soil moisture in most of the republic under potatoes, root crops, corn, herbs, as well as under grain crops, where the ear was still being poured, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil are good and satisfactory. In a number of districts of the Vitebsk and Brest regions, where there is a shortage of precipitation, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil remain low.
In the last decade of July, the expected rains in most areas will improve the moisture supply of crops. The low temperature regime and the abundance of moisture will contribute to the formation of a crop of potatoes, root crops, vegetables that are not demanding of heat. For the development of heat-loving crops, due to a shortage of heat, conditions will not develop in the best way.
