Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 18, 2023
In most of Belarus, winter crops are maturing – waxy ripeness is noted, in places in the southern regions and in the central region, full ripeness of grain has come. Grain filling continues mainly in the north-eastern part of the republic on winter crops. Grain filling is observed in spring crops on the main massifs, maturation has begun in many areas of the southwestern half of the country - waxy ripeness is noted in barley, full ripeness of grain is observed in some fields. Grain moisture in the observation areas is still dominated by increased.
Unstable weather this week will somewhat restrain the ripening and drying of grain. At the same time, the passing rains will replenish the soil moisture content, which is favorable for the growth of grasses, the formation of a crop of corn, potatoes and root crops.
