Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 16, 2024
Against the background of the increased temperature regime, the development of corn this year is ahead of last year's deadlines. From May to mid-July, the accumulated sum of effective temperatures is above +10C exceeded last year's figures for the same period by 100-145С. Leaf formation continues in corn, and panicle sweeping is underway in many of the observed fields. In early crops, the panicle and cob began to bloom. In the near future, good moisture supply in most of the republic will contribute to the formation of the cob. The condition of the corn is mostly good. Only some weather stations have reduced the visual assessment to satisfactory due to hail damage to the leaves.
The past heavy rains and wind have increased the area of grain crops. In the coming days, harvesting of grain and winter rapeseed in most of the country will be complicated by the expected rains. In the future, the conditions for harvesting will be better.
