Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 12, 2024
In the first decade of July, due to the past rains, the moisture content in the soil increased. According to the results of the instrumental determination of soil moisture conducted on July 8, moisture reserves were good in most of the territory of the republic under cereals, as well as under potatoes, corn, and herbs. Sufficient moisture availability has positive effect on the final stage of grain crop formation. Due to the uneven distribution of precipitation in the western and southwestern regions of the country, moisture reserves in the soil remained insufficient in places in the Minsk and Gomel regions.
In the near future, the expected short-term rains in most areas will maintain good moisture availability of crops. At the same time, rains will moisten the stems and keep the drying of grain crops, locally they can complicate the conditions for harvesting winter rapeseed and grain crops, hay harvesting.
