Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 12, 2022
Moisture supply of agricultural crops in the northern half and in the western part of Belarus is noticeably better than in the south and southeast of the country, due to uneven precipitation. After heavy rains, an increased moisture content was noted in places. A good moisture supply will favorably affect the final stage of the formation of an ear of spring crops. In a number of districts of the Gomel, in some places in the south of the Brest and Mogilev regions, at the time of soil moisture determination, low reserves of productive moisture were observed, which may adversely affect grain filling.
The past and expected rains in the near future will eliminate soil drought in the southern and southeastern regions. At the same time, heavy rains with wind can increase the lodging of grain crops, expand areas with waterlogging of the soil.
